11.12.2021 ob 10.00 Galerija mesta Ptuj in virtualno tukaj:

Sedaj, ko bo v času ptujske razstave ideja praznovala svojo 10. obletnico nam Marek Schovanek v sobanah Galerije mesta Ptuj ponuja na ogled celotno zgodbo. ” (Jernej Forbici, umetniški direktor festivala Art Stays)

In his work, the Czech-Canadian artist Marek Schovanek uses irony and provocation as an instrument to criticize the mass consumption and destructiveness of Western societies. He is a multidisciplinary artist engaged in painting, sculpture, spatial installations and public projects. Years ago, he was described in one of many interviews as an extreme athlete in the arts, and he proves this with every new project he starts in his studio, whether it is complex painting feats, megalomaniac sculptural challenges or the cuisine in question. at the current exhibition in the Ptuj City Gallery.

“The story of the Anarchist Cookie Shop began in December 2011, in the middle of the Italian Alps. Marek Schovánek gave me a box of homemade, slightly different Christmas cookies and since the ski weekend was also dedicated to preparing a new edition of the Art Stays festival, which was the main art event of the European Capital of Culture Maribor 2012 next year, the idea of connecting Schovanek’s new confectionery skills with an exceptional cookie shop project fell on fertile ground. The evenings that followed were imbued with ideas on how to carry out a new project, which at the time was also given a concept and the name Anarchist Cookie Shop (a derivative of the controversial Anarchist Cook Book). After a very successful premiere in Ptuj in the summer of 2012, the project was presented in an expanded concept in Prague, Berlin, Ostrava, Sofia and elsewhere. Now that the idea will celebrate its 10th anniversary, with FRAGILE Marek Schovánek is offering us the whole story on 500 sqm of the Ptuj City Gallery Galerija mesta PtujThousands of pieces of pastry including portraits, dead birds, reproductions of old masters, weapons, injections, skeletons, skulls and thousands of letters composed into statements that have somehow moved the wheels of society and the world: A fragile exhibition, an exceptional artist, strong thoughts.” (Jernej Forbici, Artistic Director of the Art Stays Festival)
